Hey, Amy here...
Phew. Today was profound for me...
I've been going through some BIG challenges in my life... and have been feeling a bit fragile.
I've always wanted to do martial arts, and for one reason or another I never have.
Until today.
I got up this morning and went across town to a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym, by myself.
I walked in and everyone was putting on their Gi and stretching. I felt like a fish out of water.
I didn't know who to talk to, who was in charge, or what I was supposed to do first.
Then, the owner of the gym came over and introduced himself. He had me sign a waiver, gave me a Gi and sent me to the locker room to change.
He sent one of the female students in with me to help me tie my belt and get ready.
Then, I came out to the mat, feeling REALLY intimidated.
The owner asked me if it would be okay to to the ritual that they do when they have a new person in class. I said yes.
Then, everyone lined up, and one-by-one, the came up to me, looked me in the eye, shook my hand, told me their name, and welcomed me. It was beautiful actually.
Then we began. It was not a beginner's class, so I felt kind of thrown to the wolves. It was a self defense class, and I was immediately being shown how to take someone down to their back when they were choking me, etc. Again, I felt intimidated, and weak.
I also felt old- I was WAY older than pretty much everyone there. :)
Because of some of the challenges I have going on with my body, I noticed myself doubting whether this would be a good sport for me.
The owner kept checking on me and instructing the 2 women I was working with on which moves were best to practice with me.
When it came time for everyone to start sparring, the owner told me I could be done for today since I wasn't ready for that yet. At that point, I was feeling on the fence about whether or not I would return, or join the gym.
Then he called me into his office. He could tell I was struggling inside and he sat and talked to me, at length, about the struggles I've been facing in my life. He didn't pry or ask me for details... he could just tell that I was in a fragile state.
He spent 30 minutes with me. He helped me to see how powerful I am, and helped me to see that my limitations are in my mind.
Every once in a while, he would stand up and give the class some direction. I told him I didn't want to keep him from teaching the class.
He said, "You are the most important person right now."
He went on to tell me that the reason he teaches Brazilian Jiu JItsu is because of the difference he gets to make in people's lives.
He said that when someone like me walks into his gym and he can see the potential in a person that can't necessarily see it for themself yet, he gets excited about what's possible for that person, for the transformation that he knows will take place, and for new life that person will have as a result.
He didn't pressure me one bit. And he told me that he would love to work with me and that he knows he can help me.
He told me that the community there would lift me up in ways I've never experienced before.
I felt SO supported, so heard, so seen.
That conversation not only changed my life (I cried through the whole thing), it is the reason that I will join that gym and make this practice a part of my life.
If I had walked out without having that conversation with the owner, I'd still be on the fence and, after my travels that are coming up this week for Thanksgiving, I may or may not have gone back.
But that conversation and the support I felt changed everything for me.
To top it off, as I was leaving (with tears streaming down my face), 2 different people walked over to me, separately, and told me that they hope I come back. And they told me that it's like a family there, and they would love for me to be a part of the family.
Woah.
I have found a new home.
I wanted to share this with you today just so that you realize that, although I've been in the marketing game for a long time, I still understand what it feels like to be a fish out of water. I felt like one today.
And I also know, that with the right support, we can accomplish anything we put our minds to.
I want you to know that if you are ready to learn how to earn an income online so that you can be FREE, that I will be here to guide you and support you every step of the way.

I can promise you that.
YOU are the most important person right now.
This will be your new home and you will be welcomed in with open arms just like I was today (even though I was scared and uncertain).
So, I just wanted to make sure you were aware... because there's never been a better time to change your life, or a better group of people to change it with.
We are here for you.
Just like the owner of the gym, the reason I do what I do is for the difference I get to make in people's lives.
I am aware of the potential in you, even though you may not see it for yourself yet.
And I'm excited about what's possible for you, for the transformation that I know will take place, and for new life that you will have as a result.
