Hey, Amy here.
Have you ever had the same message or lesson keep showing up
in different ways at a particular time in your life?
It's almost like the Universe is tapping us on the shoulder sometimes, reminding us of something again and again, just hoping that we will get it.
When the student is
ready the teacher appears, right?
Well, I have a few different 'teachers' that have been showing up lately, to deliver the same message to me.
It's been helpful, and profound, so I wanted to share it with
you.
I attend a live stream talk every week by one of my spiritual teachers.
He does Q & A at the end, which is always my favorite part... because, regardless of the question, I can always find something in my life to apply the answer to.
Someone asked,
"I've been feeling suicidal, like my life doesn't have meaning or purpose anymore. I'm very depressed. What is your advice?"
He responded:
"If you kill yourself, you will just come back in a different form. Your body dies, but your spirit doesn't. So just work with what you've got."
This was profound and made a
lot of sense to me.
Then, 3 days later, I was at my spiritual service that I attend every Sunday.
The woman who's in charge of the music there asked me if I had my videos ready for her yet- she's been waiting for me to send her some audition videos to potentially play music at some of the
services.
I told her I'm struggling with my voice. It keeps getting lower and lower as I get older, and I'm not crazy about the way it sounds anymore. I'm super self conscious about it and was having a hard time making the videos.
She simply said, "Work with what you've got."
Woah.
So I guess this is my message from the Universe this week.
And when I was sharing this with my dear friend, Paul, on one of our long chats about life the other day... he said,
"That's advice we can all use."
It's my new mantra.
We all have different circumstances, and different gifts and talents.
We are all in different places in our lives and we all have our own unique lot in life, with our own
unique set of challenges.
But we always have the opportunity to work with what we've got and to make the most of what we've got.
This pertains to our businesses as well.
Regardless of what business you have or what niche you are in or what industry you are in, there will always be someone else in your niche or your industry that will have:
- cooler videos
- better branding
- more
downloads
- more followers
- more engagement
- better looks
- a better accent
- a better network
- better ads
- more posts
- better
posts
- a nicer website
- more money
- bigger launches
- better copywriting skills
- better stage presence
- more confidence
- and they may even be a better dancer on TikTok ❤️
And the list goes on and on.
If you keep measuring yourself in comparison to where someone else is on their journey, you will continue to be dissatisfied with your business and your life.
This comparison game is often unconscious... but, as humans, this is the silly game we play with ourselves.
Truth: You are here to do something epic. That's literally why you are here.
It doesn't
matter one bit what anyone else are doing. They are not you.
You can create the world and the business and the life you want to create...
As soon as you stop worrying about what anyone else is up to.
And just work with what you've got.
Just stay in your lane, and be true to yourself, and do what's in your heart to do.
And go big and play full out, in your own way... not someone else's
way.
