Hey, Amy here.
I earned my first belt in martial arts last night! Yay!
What's crazy is that I didn't think I could do it at first... I was really struggling in the beginning to remember everything and to understand all
of the new concepts and movements.
I spoke to my coach about it, rather than quitting... and he assured me that if I stick with it it will not only get easier, but it will actually help my brain and my memory.
And I think he was right.
This makes me wonder... how many things are we talking ourselves out of because of our perceived limitations when maybe the things we are talking ourselves out of could help us overcome some of our limitations?
My teacher gave a speech at the end of the tests before we all went up to receive our belts... about how he has taught thousands of people in the last 20 years and how the people in this room are the only ones who have stuck it out.
Because people quit and give up on themselves, or they don't want to show up or put in the work
that's required on their own, to practice at home.
And this is true with anything, right?
We have to stick it out and put in the work and show up for ourselves if we want to become great at anything.
I hosted the Grow Rich
mastermind this morning and I shared on the topic of persistence.
I shared some things from my life in regard to martial arts and boxing... 2 things that I've only been doing since the beginning of the year that have made a profound difference in my life.
I shared how this carries over into other areas of our lives and business.
And I spoke a bit about how you cannot fail if you are being yourself.
