One of the best ways to learn something is to teach it.
We talk about this a lot in regard to our businesses and our content creation... we sometimes refer to it as learn, do, teach.
This is where we learn a skill and then implement the skill in our own
marketing, and the we can turn around and create a piece of content where we teach the skill to our audience.
And when we teach the skill, we end up learning it on a whole new level.. teaching is often the best way to really amplify our learning.
This holds true in other areas of life as well... whenever we teach something it forces us to really think about the process that we go through to do it,
which forces us to think it through in another way and helps us get better at it in the process.
But when you are not used to teaching, it can be scary because teaching allows people to see your personality, your knowledge (or lack thereof), your code of ethics, etc.
It's a very vulnerable feeling.
But it's because we are willing to put ourselves out there in that way in order to help others that people will be attracted to that.
They will be attracted to our willingness to put ourselves out there and the right people will be
attracted to our personality and our code of ethics.
Teaching gives others the opportunity to really get to know who we are and what we stand for.
The type of teacher we are says so much about us... so it really
allows people to get to know us in a deeper way.
And we are not all natural born teachers... which is why it can feel so scary.
I know it was super scary for me in the beginning (and honestly, I still get super nervous every time).
But the more we do it, the better we get at it and it becomes a little less scary over time.
