Hey, Amy here.
I listen to Michael Singer's podcast, hours of it every week. It's been a huge help for me along this part of my journey and through my challenges. He's the author of The Untethered Soul and The Surrender Experiment, and he's an incredible spiritual teacher, with such simple and profound teachings
that really make sense and really make a difference. He's definitely my go to every day right now.
One of the things he talks about constantly is how we think we are in control of everything in our lives, and we have such deep preferences about the way things should be... but actually it's not up to us.
He always reminds us about all of the events that had to
happen before this very moment in order for us to be standing where we are with the people and the circumstances we have in front of us.
He says things something like,
"If your great great grandmother didn't slip and fall on the sidewalk right where your great great grandfather was standing in that moment, they never would have met, and you wouldn't even be here."
And he just constantly reminds us about the divine order and perfection in
everything.
This has been so helpful for me to remember as I navigate through my life circumstances, to remember that this has all been perfectly orchestrated, and that the difficulties that I'm experiencing are just meant to be part of my path for whatever reason.
And in the midst of it all, the most incredible gifts keep showing up.
I believe
that this is true for all of us. if we look around us, even in the most trying times, we can see the people and the opportunities that ended up in our lives because of our challenges... people and opportunities we may not have had in our lives otherwise.
As Napoleon Hill says, “Every adversity, every failure, every heartbreak, carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
