Hi, Amy here.
As my dear friend Linda and I tie up the loose ends on our new book (we are so excited it's almost ready)... I've been thinking a lot about the power of persistence.
All of the great things I've ever accomplished in my life (for the greater good or for myself) have only
happened because I made a decision to keep going no matter what obstacles were presented in my path.
Calvin Coolidge said,
"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
And William James evolved the theory of getting a second wind (mentally, emotionally, and physically).
He taught that new reserves of strength are accessed when we keep going, as if an 'unseen partner' shows up to assist us.
The only way we can ever really fail is if we give up.
