Hi, Amy here.
I had a conversation yesterday with my dear friend Paul and one of the things he asked me was about was the way I built my very first business, back when I was in network marketing and before internet marketing was a thing.
I was telling him about the different ways I used to build my business, like putting flyers on cars in
parking lots and making cold calls. And, not just a few cold calls here and there, we are talking about a TON of cold calls. It was my main marketing strategy for a while.
I also did booths on the weekends. If you've ever done a booth you know how much work they are. It involved setting up a tent and lugging all of your stuff there and setting it up and giving out samples all day.
I even did this when my daughter was a tiny baby, I'd take her with me and she'd be sleeping in a pack and play and I'd be nursing her in between giving out samples.
My sponsor and I also did a radio commercial to get our message out there, which was very expensive and time consuming.
So, if anyone thinks building a funnel or writing emails or marketing online is hard, just think about how easy
we have it compared to how hard it used to be to build residual income when there was no leverage.
Back in the day I had to drive to meet people at coffee shops (in a blizzard sometimes) to show them my flip chart presentation.
And nowadays we can simply send someone a link to a video, or optimize our videos for search so that the right people can find them on their own, even while we're sleeping.
Not to mention, all of the platforms keep doing their best to make our jobs even easier, they are improving all the time. They have to consistently improve because they are all competing with each other for our engagement, so they want to make us happy, right?
Marketing is also so much fun these days, which is also something else I could never say for the way we used to
build residual income.
Think about it. Every single one of us has the ability to show up and share our message, the message that we came to share in this lifetime.
We are literally just given a platform to be able to do it. It's open to anyone to do this, and there are lots of platforms to choose from. And most of them are free!
It's
insane how fortunate we are.
