a full circle moment (insights from Costa Rica) ❤️

I finally got around to posting some pictures from my Costa Rica trip on Facebook last night. Right now there's a separate post for each day, and you can see them here if you want.

The energy is amazing here. It's been so nice to unplug and have time to be still.

I arrived on Tuesday and spent a day and a half in San Jose by myself... and then I got to meet up with my dear friend Muriel, and we road tripped about 6 hours (including a beautiful ferry ride) to where she lives, on a mango farm outside of Santa Teresa. It's so magical here.

Muriel and I met about 11 years ago at an event for online entrepreneurs. I was speaking on stage, sharing my story about how I managed to become a successful online entrepreneur as a single mom with 2 small children. I told my story to show people that if I can succeed at this, anyone can.

Muriel was in the audience and she was moved to tears. It was at that moment that she realized she wanted to make this happen for herself. And then she committed to it, and did it.

She went on to become a very successful digital marketer with her husband Dirk and they were able to move their family from the Netherlands to Costa Rica six years ago.

Her and I hadn't seen each other in person since that event 11 years ago, until now. We have been connected online over the years, and now I am here staying with and spending time with her and her husband Dirk in Costa Rica.

It really is such a full circle moment for all of us. And I am just so grateful to be here and so inspired by the life they have created for themselves here.

In the few photos that we had shared since Muriel and I met up on Wednesday, so many people have said,

“You two look like sisters.”

We have said,

“It’s because we are.”

We are soul sisters, so deeply connected and so similar in so many ways. Since the minute we met up on Wednesday, so much has unraveled. It’s a relationship that I cherish deeply, and I am just feeling so grateful for the opportunity to spend so much quality time here with her and Dirk.

If you look at internet marketers or home based business entrepreneurs and think we are all ‘lone rangers’, out here on our own, or just in it for the money, I just want you to know that that couldn’t be further from the truth.

When you find the ones that are in alignment with your values, and operate from the heart using principles instead of hype, and the ones that operate with complete integrity, something magical happens. You realize that you are kindred spirits, soul family.

I have found this to be true over the years, and it has proven itself again as I have experienced the immediate connection and sisterhood I feel with Muriel.

This is so much more than just an online business.

And, as I sit in my quandary about where I will relocate to and where my life will take me next, I am just feeling so much gratitude for the freedom that I have because of the fact that I have my own business and can work from anywhere in the world.

I am not stuck. I am free. And that is an amazing feeling.

If you are thinking about starting an online business of some sort (or maybe you already have one), I just wanted to share this to inspire you and tell you how excited I am for you, and to remind you that anything is possible when you commit, go all in, and believe in yourself.

I assure you that your people are out there as well. And they are likely some of the best friends you will ever have in your life.

I've been here for 6 and half years now. There's honestly no place else I would want to be.

I've been in the home business industry for over 20 years, and I've honestly never seen anything like this.

I'm headed out now to a Saturday morning Costa Rica farmer's market, and then off to a potluck with Dirk & Muriel's local community.
