Back in 2003 when I first got into the network marketing industry, I was taught to make a list of my family and friends (and hair dresser, and plumber. and car mechanic, etc) that I could talk to about my business.

I would literally talk to ANYONE that was vertical and breathing because I really wanted to succeed. Once I ran out of friends and family to talk to, I started cold calling people out of the phone book, and calling numbers on the sides of landscaping trucks on the highway. I'd think to myself,

"Well, he's an entrepreneur... he MUST keep his options open and I'm sure he'd love to hear about what I have."

I just knew I had the best business opportunity since sliced bread, and that if I could just get it in front of ENOUGH people, I would succeed, and also be able to help everyone else succeed.

Although I did have a little bit of success, I was NEVER able to hit my goals this way... and I became very unpopular to my family and friends who were SO tired of hearing about why they should join my business.

I HADN'T EVEN BEGUN TO START BUILDING A BRAND FOR MYSELF. I WAS MUCH TOO BUSY FOCUSING ON MY COMPANY'S BRAND.

Then I learned about attraction marketing.

I started to learn how to brand myself and add value to the marketplace. I learned that, by doing this, the RIGHT people would FIND ME... and I wouldn't have to talk to the wrong people anymore who literally had zero interest in what I was doing.

THAT'S WHEN EVERYTHING CHANGED FOR ME.

That's when I not only started hitting my goals for the first time ever... but I started hitting them AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. That's when I finally became a six figure earner in this industry (after spinning my wheels for 8 years doing it the other way).

I was amazed. I was overjoyed. I was also spending LESS time to get much bigger results. It was a dream come true.

Since then, I've been able to show others how to build a business doing things that DON'T require them having to make any kind of a list of friends and family (as a matter of fact when I think about doing that or cold calling now, it seriously makes me want to cry, or vomit).
