Valentine's Day hasn't always been a great day for me... especially since getting divorced almost 12 years ago.
I've often brushed it off as 'Halmark Holiday' and tried to pretend it wasn't happening.
I thought it was only for happy couples, and always felt a little left out on this day.
But I've since shifted that for myself... and I see now that Valentine's Day is just a great opportunity to focus on love, to see the light in others, and to be grateful for all of it.
It's also a perfect day to tell someone that you love them (or like them) who may not know... to get out of your comfort zone and be brave.
Like the time I dropped a Valentine card into the convertible Corvette of a guy at my college that I had a crush on, and in the card I told him. I barely knew him, he was just in one of my classes. But that card turned into a long term and really fun relationship. :)
What have you got to lose?
And that's really my take on all of it now... loving fully and being brave is what life is all about, regardless of whether we are single or married or what our circumstances are.
And Valentine's Day is about loving fully. So it's a great day, no matter what.
On another note...
Another great thing about today is that I just started working with a new awesome accountability and mastermind partner.
The last time I took this on, I upped my game in a huge way in a very short amount of time... so I'm super excited because I know what's in store.
We set weekly goals each week, and then 3 month, 6 month and 12 month goals. Mine are largely about increasing my residual income to create a lot more time freedom in my life. I actually haven't been able to really set that as a goal for quite a while because the big goals I'm setting wouldn't have been realistic.
The mission of this company that I'm an affiliate for is Freedom, through principle centered leadership. I just got paid again today... they pay us every Friday like clockwork... and I often get commission notifications while I'm out and about, volunteering at the school store or at the beach.
