None of us are immune to it, and I know I'm certainly not.
Just last night my daughter and I were talking about all of the events that were supposed to be happening right now, that aren't. I started crying.
And, at the same time, I feel like now more than ever, it's super important to really focus on what we allow into our minds, and what we choose to focus on.
No matter what is happening in the world right now, the fact is that the world needs leaders now more than ever.
That being said, it's totally normal to have good days and bad days. Some days feeling productive might feel good, while other days it feels better to do nothing at all.
The most important thing to do is to honor where you are at each day, and allow yourself to feel what you need to feel.
But there's a huge difference between staying informed and becoming paralyzed by fear.
I know for me personally, the thing that helps me more than anything is to do things that allow me to shine the light for others.
And in addition to COVID-19 and the current pandemic, I have been undergoing other challenges, too.
You may have seen that my daughter ended up in the hospital a few days ago, and we are still waiting for the test results to find out what is going on with her (it's suspected to be a kidney infection but we are not totally sure). This has been very stressful, to say the least.
And, as I'm writing this, we have a storm system passing through here in the southeast and I keep getting LOUD tornado warnings on my phone. This is also stressful.
But in the midst of it all, I still like to focus on gratitude and on the things that I actually have some control over.
For example, while all of this has been going on with my daughter, I was seeing commission notifications showing up, because I have a system set up and it works on my behalf, even when I can't work at all.
My friend Nick created this system, and it's changing so many lives right now. I couldn't be more grateful for it.
